Subject: Youth Commission
The City of Rosemount Youth Commission did not meet in September. At present,
we do not have enough commission applicants to fill the commission seats which
include seven, commissioners and one alternate spot. We extended the Youth
Commission deadline and have been recruiting in the hopes that all openings could be
filled soon.
Recruitment efforts include newspaper articles, reaching out to students,. parents,
community leaders, Rosemount High School social studies teachers and principal,
former commissioners and interested applicants.
At this time, we have seven (7) applications:

We have not scheduled our next meeting date at this time. My hope was that once we
received enough applications, the City Council would have a chance to review the
materials and move forward'in the process of filling the appointments.
I am wondering if the Council would like to bring on the 7 interested applicants and
appoint them as Commissioners. If so, would they like a chance to meet with them or
interview them? We could continue to seek out an Alternate in the meantime. Please
let me know how the City Council would like to proceed. Thank you.
