BACKGROUND ; + r
A group of residents have been meeting for several years to organize and promote activities in Rosemount
and the surrounding areas that will support service members and their families during deployments and
their return home. The City Council officially co- sponsored this effort with a Resolution passed on
September 21, 2010. During the past year, the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Committee has been working
toward official State recognition of Rosemount as a Beyond the Yellow Ribbon community. On August
23, 2011 Rosemount was officially awarded status as a Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Community at a
ceremony held at Inver Hills Community College. Members of the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon
Committee,`chaired by Don Sinnwell, are here to present the award.
