ISSUE
As part of the proposed 2012 CIP budget, staff has proposed to purchase new benches and planters for
the Rosemount Community Center. The benches currently on the banquet room patio would be replaced
and benches would be added to the banquet room and National Guard entrances. The benches at the
community center are several years old and need to be replaced. Staff is suggesting we purchase
maintenance free style benches that are similar to the benches used in downtown Rosemount.
With the recent improvement project at the Rosemount Community Center to fix the problem of water
leaking into the building, the large block planter near the banquet room entrance was removed. Staff is
proposing to replace the block planter with two large planters that match the existing smaller planters that
have been used in that area. Included in the packet is a plan that identifies where the planters and benches
would be located. The estimated cost for the benches and planters is $15,000.
SUMMARY
Staff would like for the City Council to review .the bench and planter plan for the RCC and provide
feedback to staff.
