RECOMMENDED ACTION: Discuss the current Legislative session issues
BACKGROUND
Senator Chris Gerlach is scheduled to visit with the Council at'our workshop meeting. Earlier,
Representative Kurt Bills visited the Council. A number of proposals have been introduced or proposed
relating to municipalities including levy limits, restrictions on new bonding, and uniform accounting
systems among local governments. There are also some items of areawide interest in,the proposed
bonding bill including proposals for DGTC and the Minnesota Zoo.
It has been suggested that both Senator Gerlach and Representative Bills be invited back to a regular
council meeting on camera to discuss the legislative session. We are considering the March 6`" regular
meeting if both Senator Gerlach and Representative Bills are available.
