ISSUE
The City of Rosemount'has- received Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the
Dakota County Community Development Agency (CDA). The•grant funds have been identified for
improving code compliance issues at City facilities. Staff has identified the need to replace''the front steps
at the Rosemount Steeple Center. The existing steps do not meet current building codes for the rise of the
steps, hand rails and the size of the landing outside of the front doors.
The replacement project would consist of expanding the landing area and adding step access on three
sides. The project would also include new decorative lighting and the replacement of existing sidewalks in
the vicinity of the project. The project is estimated to cost approximately $51,000: The CDBG funds will
cover the costs associated with the project.
The replacement of the front stairs was included in the proposed improvements for the Steeple Center as
part of the 2008 Referendum for the Steeple Center /Athletic Complex projects.
Staff plans`to have this project under construction this spring.
