RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Adopt a Resolution Receiving Plans and
Specifications and Ratifying the Advertisement for Bids for the 2012 Street Improvement
Project, City Project 437.
BACKGROUND:
On December 6, 2011 the Rosemount City Council authorized the preparation of plans and specifications
for the 2012 Street Improvement Project, City Project 437. At this time, the plans and specifications are
complete and copies are on file in the Engineering Department.
The 2012 Street Improvement Project includes the mill and overlay and spot curb and gutter replacement
on the following streets:
• 145 Street West from Shannon Parkway to Cameo Avenue (0.9 miles)
• Shannon Parkway from 145 Street West to CSAH 42 (0.5 miles)
• Shannon Hills 1 — 3r Additions (0.9 miles)
Additional pedestrian, bike, and traffic related improvements are also included with this project. These
improvements include:
• Curb bumpouts for traffic calming and concrete crosswalk improvements on 145 Street at the
intersections of Canada Avenue and Cameo Avenue.
• Bicycle lane striping on 145 Street between Shannon Parkway and Chippendale Avenue, and on
Shannon Parkway south of 145 Street.
• An 8 -foot bituminous trail with an 8 -foot boulevard on the north side of 145 Street between
Shannon Parkway and Chippendale Avenue.
SUMMARY:
Staff recommends Council receive the plans and specifications and ratify the advertising for bids for the
2012 Street Improvement Project, City Project 437.

RESOLUTION 2012 -
A RESOLUTION RECEIVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND RATIFYING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR
2012 STREET IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
CITY PROJECT 437
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount has ordered the preparation of plans and
specifications for the 2012 Street Improvements Project, City Project 437, and such plans and specifications
have been presented to this Council for approval:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount, Minnesota:
1. Such plans and specifications are hereby approved and ordered placed on file in the office of the
City Clerk.
2. The City Clerk has prepared and caused to be inserted in the official City newspaper and the Finance
and Commerce an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvements under such
approved plans and specifications for City Project 437.
3. The advertisement has been published in each of said publications at least once not less than three
(3) weeks before the date set for opening bids, specified the work to be done, stated the bids would
be publicly opened on March 23, 2012 at 2:00 o'clock p.m. at the Rosemount City Hall in said City,
and that no bids would be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied
by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City Clerk for five (5 %)
percent of the amount of such bid.
4. Such advertisement for bids is hereby ratified by the Council.
