RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve the use of the identified items for official
use by the Police Department and Public Works Department.
ISSUE
City Code 7 -6 delineates the procedure for disposing of unclaimed property that comes into the possession
of the City. Typically, property is recovered by the Police Departmeneduring the course of a criminal
investigation or is recovered as abandoned in the community, e.g. bicycles.
BACKGROUND
The items described below have been held by the Police Department in excess of the 60 days required by, .
City Code 7 -6. Ownership of the items is unknown.
The bicycles are suitable for use by the Police Reserves for bike'patrol duties. The voltage meteh are
suitable for use by Public Works staff for their duties.
