RECOMMENDED ACTION: Review the proposed meetings and events and direct staff on
scheduling.
BACKGROUND and DISCUSSION

The following meetings and events have been proposed or suggested in recent weeks. The Council's
direction on scheduling these meetings and events is requested.
1. Commissioner appreciation dinner. The Community Center is` available May 3, 10, and 17.
Dwight and Emmy will not beavailable on May 3 due to a conference. Council member Jeff
Weisensel is not available on May 17. " 5
2. Youth Summit date: It has been suggested that the Council and the Youth Commission conduct a
joint town hall type meeting with youth especially invited: The proposed date /time is May 12 at
from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m: Pizza would be served.
3. Meet with the Fire Department. This was brought up during discussion of Fire Department paid-
on -call wages and also at a recent work session. Good dates for the Fire Department are the 2nd
and {4` Tuesdays of each month at either 6:30 p.m. or 8:00 p.m. (they can juggle their training
schedule).
4. Joint meeting with Park and Recreation Commission: This iscurrently'scheduled for Monday,
April 23r di 7:00 p.m.
5. Request for meeting with UMore Park regarding findings of pollution study. The yearlong study
voluntarily commissioned by the University is'now complete and the University is ready to brief
the staff, Council and the general public.
RECOMMENDATION •
Review and direct staff on the desired scheduling for the above items.
