Rosemount's Operations Superintendent, Rick Cook, submitted his retirement notice recendy after nearly
40 yeats of service to the City with the Public Woxks Depaxttnent.
Rick's career with the City began in 1972 when the population of Rosemount was about 4,000 people —
less than one-fifth of the current amount. As of his fitst day on the job, Rick made up 50% of the Public
Works staff. Over the past 40 years, Rick has seen Rosemount Public Works grow from that two-person
staff to a Depaxtment of 24, in keeping with population gxowth and the incxeased demands xequixed today
for service and quality.
Rick's dedication to the City and his leadership within the Department have been instrumental to the
esta.blishment of high service levels for snowplowing, parks maintenance, street maintenance, and the
operation of the utility system. Visitors to Rosemount regularly shaYe that the City's athletic facilities are
among the highest quality and best maintained facilities in the Twin Cities metro area. His work will be
enjoyed by Rosemount visitors and residents for decades to come.
Rick's final day with the Ciry of Rosemount will be May 31.
