Droste, Mayor AGENDA NO. - ,a - ATTACHMENTS: APPROVED BY: OD) RECOMMENDED ACTION: Presentation of certificates of commendation Rosemount is fortunate to have a large number of young people who reach the highest levels of Scouting programs. The "Eagle Scout" designation is the highest advancement rank for Boy Scouts. The City Council tonight continues its tradition of honoring these accomplishments by commending residents of Rosemount who recently achieved the Eagle rank. Carl Wisherd led a project to improve the facilities for track and field competition at Rosemount High School. He filled in soil around the shot put area, installed drain tiles, and painted the school's colors of blue and gold at the field. Carl graduated last week from R.H.S. and will attend the University of North Dakota -Grand Forks for training in air traffic control. Ryan Wisherd built a prayer labyrinth on the grounds of the Shepard of the Valley Lutheran Church in Apple Valley. He designed the feature for the backyard of the church, and installed cement patio edging blocks. Ryan is completing his junior year at Rosemount High School this week, and is considering attending college at UW -Eau Claire to study business. Jacob Stern headed a project to improve the landscaping next to the playground of Shannon Park Elementary School. He planned the work, organized the workers, raised money to pay for it, and then supervised the preparation of the ground, planting grass and spreading woodchips. Jacob graduated last week from Rosemount High School and is heading to Gustavus Adolphus College to study economics and Spanish.
