RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to accept the bids and award the contract to the low
bidder, Friedges Contracting, for the base bid amount and alternate #1, in the amount of
$719,028.10 for the UMORE Ballfield Project — Phase 1.
ISSUE
The City recently received bids for phase one of the UMore ball field project. There were fourteen
companies on the plan holders list. The City received two bids for the project. The two bids are listed on
the attached bid tabulation summary sheet. Also attached is a letter from the project manager
recommending the City receive the bids and award the contract.
The Parks and Recreation Commission has reviewed the bids and along with staff, recommends the City
Council consider accepting the bids and awarding the contract to the low bidder, Friedges Contracting, for
the base bid amount and alternate #1, which is the turf between the two fields instead of asphalt, in the
amount of $719,028.10.
