RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Adopt a Resolution Receiving Plans and
Specifications and Ratifying Advertisement for Bids for the Greystone 1 Addition Street
and Utility Improvements, City Project 439
BACKGROUND:
On May 15, 2012, the Rosemount City Council authorized the preparation of plans and specifications for
the Greystone 1" Addition Street and Utility Improvements, City Project 439. At this time, the plans and
specifications are complete and copies are on file in the Engineering Department. A brief review of the
proposed improvements follows:
LOCATION
The Greystone 1" addition is located on the east side of Akron Avenue, mid -way between CSAH 42 and
Bonaire Path.
PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS
The proposed improvements include the installation of water main, sewer main, storm sewer, streets and
trails to accommodate 23 single - family homes.
COST AND FUNDING
The total estimated project cost is $1,147,386, which includes 30% indirect costs. Of this amount,
$1,070,886 will be funded by the developer, The Ryland Group, Inc. The remaining estimated costs
associated with trunk utility over - sizing will be funded with City Core funds totaling $76,500 ($18,100
from the sanitary core; $58,400 from the storm core).
SUMMARY:
Staff recommends Council receive the plans and specifications and ratify the advertising for bids for the
Greystone 1" Addition Street and Utility Improvements, City Project 439.

RESOLUTION 2012 -
A RESOLUTION RECEIVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND RATIFYING ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS FOR
GREYSTONE 1 ADDITION STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT 439
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount has ordered the preparation of plans and
specifications for the Greystone 1" Addition Street and Utility Improvements, City Project 439, and such
plans and specifications have been presented to this Council for approval:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount, Minnesota:
1. Such plans and specifications are hereby approved and ordered placed on file in the office of the
City Clerk
2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official City newspaper and the Finance
and Commerce, an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvements under such
approved plans and specifications for City Project 439.
3. The advertisement shall be published in each of said publications at least once not less than one (1)
week before the date set for opening bids, specifying the work to be done, stating the bids will be
publicly opened on June 22, 2012 at 10:00 o'clock a.m. at the Rosemount City Hall in said City, and
that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a
cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City Clerk for five (5 %)
percent of the amount of such bid.
4. Such advertisement for bids is hereby ratified by the Council.
