BACKGROUND
The planned Park and Ride facility along south of 145 street just south of City Hall was originally
scheduled for construction in 2013 under terms of the federal CMAQ grant received by MVTA. However
MNDoT, which administers the CMAQ grant funds, has approved advance construction of the Park and
Ride this year. One of the conditions of the grant is that a lease agreement be executed between the
owner of the land (Rosemount Port Authority) and MVTA showing that MVTA has effective control of
the land to establish a transit facility there. Both the Port Authority and the MVTA have approved the
lease in concept, subject to any final amendments consistent with the intentions of the parties in the
agreement.
We understand that the next step is to go out for bids on the project. We have asked MVTA for a project
schedule now that the main grant conditions appear to be satisfied and hope to have a response in time for
the work session meeting.
