RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Adopt a Resolution Receiving Plans and
Specifications and Ratifying Advertisement for Bids for the Diamond Path Trail
Improvements, City Project 434
BACKGROUND:
On January 4, 2012, the Rosemount City Council authorized the preparation of plans and specifications
for the Diamond Path Trail Improvements, City Project 434. At this time, the plans and specifications are
complete and copies are on file in the Engineering Department.
Improvements will include the construction of a bituminous trail along the east side of Diamond Path
from County Road 42 to Connemara Trail. This project is consistent with the Rosemount Pedestrian
Facilities Plan which is designed to provide a safe and comprehensive trail /sidewalk network to serve the
community and connect existing pedestrian facilities.
The total estimated project cost is $476,200, which includes $70,825 for the necessary easement
acquisitions and 25% for indirect costs. The 45% City share is $221,203, with the remaining 55% of the
project costs being charged to Dakota County.
SUMMARY:
Staff recommends Council receive the plans and specifications and ratify the advertising for bids for the
Diamond Path Trail Improvements, City Project 434.

RESOLUTION 2012 -
A RESOLUTION RECEIVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND RATIFYING ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS FOR
DIAMOND PATH TRAIL IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT 434
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount has ordered the preparation of plans and
specifications for the Diamond Path Trail Improvements, City Project 434, and such plans and
specifications have been presented to this Council for approval:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount,
Minnesota:
1. Such plans and specifications are hereby approved and ordered placed on file in the office of the
City Clerk.
2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official City newspaper and the
Finance and Commerce an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvements
under such approved plans and specifications for City Project 434.
3. The advertisement shall be published in each of said publications at least once not less than one
(1) weeks before the date set for opening bids, specified the work to be done, stating the bids
will be publicly opened on July 6, 2012 at 10:00 o'clock a.m. at the Rosemount City Hall in said
City, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and
accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City
Clerk for five (5 %) percent of the amount of such bid.
4. Such advertisement for bids is hereby ratified by the Council.
