Advertisement for Bids for the Prestwick Place 4th Addition Street and Utility Improvements,
City Project 444
BACKGROUND:
On August 6,2012,the Rosemount City Council approved the final plat for the Prestwick Place 4`h
Addition Street&Utility Improvements, City Project 444. Staff is asking Council to approve the
preparation of plans and specifications,to receive the plans and specifications, and to ratifythe
advertisement for bids for this project. At this time,the plans and specifications are complete and copies
are on file in the Engineering Department.
The Prestwick Place 4`h addition is a development of 28 single-family homes located north of the
Prestwick Place 2"d addition, adjacent to Akron Avenue. The project will be funded by the developer
except for approximately$34,700 in sanitary sewer oversizing costs that the City will fund using the
Sanitary Core fund.
SUMMARY:
Staff recommends Council receive the plans and specifications and ratifythe advertising for bids for the
Prestwick Place 4th Addition Street &Utility Improvements, City Project 444.

A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PREPARATION OF PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS, APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS,
AND RATIFYING ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS FOR
PRESTWICK PLACE 4T" ADDITION STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT 444
WHEREAS, D.R. Horton, Inc. - Minnesota has requested the Ciry of Rosemount prepare plans and
specifications for Prestwick Place 4`�'Addition Street and Utiliry Improvements, City Project 444; and
WHEREAS, D.R. Horton, Inc. - Minnesota has deposited the necessary funds with the City for the
preparation of the plans and specifications for City Project 444,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Ciry Council of the City of Rosemount approves
the preparation of plans and specifications for said improvements of Ciry Project 444.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Ciry Council of the City of Rosemount, l�iinnesota:
1. Such plans and specifications are hereby approved and ordered placed on file in the office of
the City Clerk.
2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official City ne�vspaper and the
Finance and Commerce an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvements
under such approved plans and specifications for City Project 444.
3. The advertisement shall be published in each of said publications at least once not less than
three (3) �veeks before the date set for opening bids, specified the �vork to be done, stating
the bids �vill be publicly opened on rlugust 24, 2012 at 10:00 o'clock a.m. at the Rosemount
City Hall in said City, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City
Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable
to the City Clerk fox five (5%) percent of the amount of such bid.
4. Such advertisement for bids is hereby ratified by the Council.
