RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Approve the On-Sale Wine including strong beer,
3.2% Liquor and Sunday Liquor License to Giuseppe's LLC DBA Giuseppe's Pasta Alforno
for the premise located at 15090 Chippendale Avenue.
SUMMARY
An On-Sale Wine including Strong Beer, 3.2%Liquor and Sunday Liquor Licenses application request has
been made by Giuseppe's LLC DBA Giuseppe's Pasta Alforno (Giuseppe's). Adnan Awada and Rafic
Awada request to serve alcohol at the Giuseppe's restaurant premise located at 15090 Chippendale
Avenue. City Code allows for Giuseppe's LLC to hold an on-sale wine license and serve strong beer. In
order to serve the strong beer, Giuseppe's must also be licensed to sell 3.2%beer on-sale and have gross
receipts that are at least 60% attributable to sale of food.
The Awada brothers submitted the required liquor license application and information to complete the
background investigation. A background investigation was completed by the Police Department. Based
upon the results of the investigation,police staff found no reason to deny the liquor license.
Staff is still waiting to receive a copy of the liability insurance riders and the liquor license fees. Upon
receiving all the required documents and fees the license information will be forwarded to the Minnesota
Department of Public Safety—Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division for review and issuance. An
inspection of the premise is not required by the State before the license will be issued.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of the On-Sale Wine including strong beer, 3.2%
Liquor and Sunday Liquor
License for Giuseppe's LLC DBA Giuseppe's Pasta Alforno for the premise located at 15090 Chippendale
Avenue.
