RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to declare the items listed in the executive summary
as surplus property and for staff to appropriately dispose of these items.
ISSUE
City owned property is required to be declared as surplus by the Council prior to the property
being sold or disposed of if the item is found to have no value.
BACKGROUND
The firearms listed below have been property obtained by the Rosemount Police Department
through criminal cases or found property which now have been cleared or closed.

State statute allows for a police department to sell confiscated or found firearms. These
firearms will be sold to a licensed firearm dealer that sells law enforcement equipment. The
vendors contacted typically issue a credit for purchase of future items.
