RECOMMENDED ACTION: Provide staff direction on future Planning Commission
meeting schedules.
ISSUE
With the new or reappointment of two Commissioners in March, staff would like to hold a training
session on the duties of a Planning Commissioner conducted by a City Attorney. Staff would like the
Commissioners to consider whether the training session should be held on the 2nd Tuesday of April,
April 91h as a special work session or prior to the regular Planning Commission meeting on April 23`d.

One issue to point out regarding the April 23`d option is that the main item on the agenda for the
regular Planning Commission meeting on that night is the UMore AUAR which will be a lengthy item
for discussion.
Therefore, the question at hand is if the Commissioners would prefer two meetings in the month of
April (April 96 and 23`d) or one longer meeting (April 231.
An additional future meeting to make note of will be a joint work session with the City Council on
Wednesday, May 15"', to discuss the comments of the Planning Commission from their meeting on
April 23d regarding the UMore AUAR.
RECOMMENDED ACTION
Provide staff direction on the Planning Commission meeting schedule for the month of April.
