RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to recommend the City Council award the contract for
replacing the skate tile in the Rosemount Arena to the vendor who submitted the lowest
price quote which was provided by Rink Systems.
ISSUE
The City of Rosemount's 2013 10 Year CIP Working Program includes $75,000 from Ice Arena reserve
funds for the replacement of the skate tile in the Rosemount Arena. The skate tile is the material that
covers the concrete floors where the arena users walk while wearing ice skates.
Staff solicited quotes from flooring vendors who provide skate tile removal and installation. Listed below
are the quotes that staff received for the project.
Vendor Price Quotes
Rink Systems $ 66,932.00
All American Arena Products $ 69,608.00
Hiller Commercial Floors $ 80,908.00
Becker Arena Products $ 87,478.17
Arena Systems $ 88,200.00
The replacement of the tile is planned to take place during the ice out period which will be April 30—June
5.
SUMMARY
Staff is recommending the City Council award the contract for replacing the skate tile in the Rosemount
Arena to the vendor who submitted the lowest price quote which was provided by Rink Systems.
