Rosemount is fortunate to have a large number of young people who reach the highest levels of Scouting
programs. The "Eagle Scout" designation is the highest advancement rank for Boy Scouts.
The City Council tonight continues its tradition of honoring these accomplishments by commending two
Rosemount students who recently achieved the Eagle rank.
Travis Diver restored the Highland cemetery by clearing and chipping a quarter of an acre of trees
and brush to clear the overgrowth on 19th century family headstones. The work allowed the
cemetery society to find and mark gravesites hidden for decades. Crown Rental donated the
equipment to make the work possible. Travis also restored family plot sites by clearing underbrush
and restoring their perimeter fencing. Travis is a senior in high school who plans to serve in the
military while obtaining an advanced degree in neurological medicine.
Alexander Duffey created an Eagle Scout project that collected building and other facilities data at
the Dakota County Fairgrounds. The data were organized in a database that the Fair Board can
use to run its programs and plan for future activities. Alex is a junior at Rosemount High School
and is looking to continue his education in either business or engineering in college.
