ATTACHMENTS: Concept Plan for Phase One, Breakdown of In -kind Donations and Resolution APPROVED BY: DAJ RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to adopt a resolution authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a contract with Dakota Aggregates who will provide an in -kind donation of earthwork /grading and construction materials for the Flint Hills Athletic Complex project. ISSUE The City of Rosemount has been offered an in -kind donation from Dakota Aggregates in the form of $280,705 worth of grading /earth work and constructions materials. Staff feels it would be advantageous for the City to use the in -kind donation from Dakota Aggregates to begin the construction of phase one of the Flint Hills Athletic Complex which includes three soccer /lacrosse fields. The phase one project costs including the parking lot and trails is estimated at $1,070,567. With this donation that is being offered to the City, along with another donation that has been offered to the City, the project cost estimate would be reduced to $735,862. The current Capital Improvement Program has $800,000 allocated for this project. SUMMARY Staff is recommending the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a contract with Dakota Aggregates who will provide an in -kind donation of earthwork /grading and construction materials for the Flint Hills Athletic Complex project. CITY OF ROSEMOUNT DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 2013 - A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE GRADING AND USE OF OTHER IN -KIND DONATIONS FOR THE FLINT HILLS ATHLETIC COMPLEX PROJECT WHEREAS, the City of Rosemount completed the process of receiving a donation of 57 acres of land from Flint Hills Resources to be used for athletic fields; and WHEREAS, the City of Rosemount has received an in -kind donation from Dakota Aggregates to provide the City with $280,705 worth of in -kind earthwork /grading and construction materials; and WHEREAS, the City of Rosemount desires to use the in -kind donation for the Flint Hills Athletic Complex site; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Rosemount hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a contract with Dakota Aggregates who will provide the in -kind donation of earthwork /grading and construction materials for the Flint Hills Athletic Complex site.
