She has had extensive background in chamber activities and is a welcome addition to the staff at DCRC. Please see attached the press release which details her experience. Staff has asked that she come to the Port meeting to discuss what issues she may see on the horizon for the Chamber. She has also been provided with a copy of the Port Authority's goals and been asked to comment about potential partnering opportunities. According to DCR Chamber Board Chair Michele Engdahl, Stute is highly respected by her peers and has a reputation of getting things done. "Vicki is seen as an industry pro, with an extensive chamber of commerce and association management background in Minnesota, most recently as president of the Angel Foundation, a nonprofit organization that helps adults with cancer and their families," Engdahl said. "Vicki is well -known in the Minnesota chamber community and is often looked to for her strong leadership." In her chamber experience, Stute served as executive vice president /chief financial officer and as interim president for the Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce from 1997 to 2007 where she helped grow the organization to become the largest local and regional chamber in Minnesota. Prior to that, she held a number of leadership positions at the TwinWest Chamber of Commerce between 1991 and 1997, including as executive vice president and interim president. Stute was president /CEO at the Red Wing Area Chamber of Commerce from 1994 to 1996, and began her career as a staff member at the South St. Paul /Inver Grove Heights Chamber of Commerce (renamed the River Heights Chamber of Commerce). "I'm very excited to be with the DCR Chamber," said Stute. "The organization has been left in a great position, and I look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence with the staff, board and all members." A lifelong resident of Dakota County, Stute has been a member of the Rotary Club International (Eagan, Minneapolis, Red Wing). She has sat on numerous statewide boards including the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Executives. Stute will replace longtime president Ruthe Batulis, who announced her resignation in January after nine years of service.
