ISSUE
One of the Port Authority goals is to meet with Downtown Businesses and determine long -and
short -term plans. Specifically the goal states:
Create a Redevelopment Status List of existing properties and engage business owners
within the Downtown Redevelopment areas for upgrades, renovations and revitalization
plans. Report to the Port Authority annually.
This item was discussed at the last meeting and it was determined that a letter would get sent to all
the business and property owners to let them know they would be receiving a call from one of the
Port members. The letter sent is included for your information. Additionally, there are two surveys
available for your use. One is for the business owner, the other for the property owner. They are
similar but not the same. Of course the conversation may take a different turn in addition to the
questions listed so please jot down your notes. The contact list is fairly complete although we will be
working to try and get some phone numbers by Tuesday's meeting that are currently missing on the
listing.
One last item, the City's IT employee has set up a separate calendar for port authority members to
use to document scheduling of the visits. This will allow all members to review scheduled visits and
determine if they would also like to attend. I will have the specific information for individual
members at the meeting on Tuesday so each of you can log onto the system.

The economic well -being of our Downtown businesses is important to the well -being of
Rosemount. In 2004 the City embarked on a Downtown reinvestment program. Today the Port
Authority is exploring how the City can continue to support the Downtown and its business
owners. As part of this effort, members of the Port Authority plan to meet with Downtown
property and business owners to hear ideas, concerns, and future plans. In addition to gathering
your thoughts, Port Authority members can connect you with staff who can direct you to
programs at the state and federal levels to help improve or even expand your business.
Members of the Port Authority will be calling to schedule personal meetings in the coming
weeks. We greatly appreciate your cooperation in this community effort. If you have any
