RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve a 10 month leave of absence on behalf of
Firefighter Isaac Zurawski.
ISSUE
Firefighter Isaac Zurawski has requested a leave from his duties beginning August 1, 2013 through May 31,
2014 to attend EMT - Paramedic school in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. According to city policies, a personal
leave in excess of ninety (90) days requires city council approval. During the leave, he will be placed on
inactive duty status and this time will not count towards time -of- service. Zurawski is in good standing with
the Rosemount Fire Department in regards to his training and call percentages and has proven to be an
asset to the city.
SUMMARY
Staff recommends approval for personal leave of absence beginning August 1, 2013 to conclude May 31,
2014, at which time Firefighter Zurawski will resume his duties.
