BACKGROUND
The Rosemount Area Arts Council (RAAC) recently celebrated its 6th Anniversary and at the
same time was presented with the 2013 Arts Achievement Award from the Metropolitan
Regional Arts Council.
There were 38 applicants for the award and RAAC was one of only two winners this year.
RAAC is also the youngest organization to win the award,
The Metropolitan Regional Arts Council representatives said that RAAC exemplifies their
vision for integrating arts into the community. Examples of this are RAAC's Front Porch
initiative to provide information on events and places in the community and hosting 42
community events in 2013.
It is our privilege to honor RAAC for this achievement. As their motto says, they are "building
and strengthening our community through the arts."
