ATTACHMENTS: Oath of Office APPROVED BY: 04U RECOMMENDED ACTION: None BACKGROUND li Mr.Alexander Luck began his duties as Police Officer with the Rosemount Police Department on Wednesday, September 18. He will be present for the ceremonial oath of office on Tuesday evening. In order for Mr. Luck to legally assume the Police Officer position in a timely manner, the City Clerk privately administered the oath of office on Wednesday, September 18. Officer Luck grew-up in the Rosemount,Minnesota and attended Rosemount High School. He holds an Associate Degree from Saint Cloud State University. Prior to entering the police profession he served four years with the United States Coast Guard,which included law enforcement training and duties. Officer Luck has two years of experience as a Water Patrol Officer and Corrections Officer with the Steams County Sheriff's Office. Officer Luck competed against approximately 182 applicants in the hiring process for Police Officer. He began his field training as of September 18 and upon completion of the field training program Officer Luck will begin working as a Patrol Officer. The prescribed oath of office is attached. STATE OF MINNESOTA ) COUNTY OF DAKOTA ) § CITY OF ROSEMOUNT ) I, Alexander Luck, solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States and of the State of Minnesota, and faithfully discharge the duties as Police Officer for the City of Rosemount in the County of Dakota and the State of Minnesota, to the best of my judgment and ability.
