meetings
BACKGROUND
Mayor Droste has suggested that we consider having our goal setting sessions prior to January this year
since there will be no changes on the Council at this time and to get a head start on any new goals for 2014
and beyond.
DISCUSSION
We normally have met on a Friday evening and reconvened on Saturday morning. After avoiding holiday
weekends closest to Veteran's Day,Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day, some dates in 2013
might be: December 6-7 or December 13-14. November 22-23 may be a possibility also,but it gives staff
less time to prepare departmental goals.
Looking ahead to January, the first weekend may interfere with anyone going to the Rose Bowl parade, I
will be out of town on the second weekend, and the third weekend is Martin Luther King holiday
weekend. The January 24-25 weekend may be open.
After we discuss dates,we should also discuss whether or not staff should be invited, any change in
location from City Hall, or any other desired changes in our usual format.
