ISSUE
Part of the Port Authority goals approved this year under"Existing Business Retention and Growth"is to
"initiate annual visioning sessions with Rosemount Business Council leadership and other volunteer
stakeholders (RAAC,Leprechaun Days, OneRosemount, RHS) to build existing and develop new
community activities and events to engage residents, businesses and organizations".
DISCUSSION
At the Port Authority meeting on March 19,2013,it was requested that the Port Authority engage more
with the Business Council and suggested that Port Authority members should attend the Business
Council's monthly meetings. Commissioners Riley and Peterson expressed interest in attending those
meetings.
Included in the work plan for the month of November was to discuss a joint meeting with the Rosemount
Business Council. Staff has contacted Vicki Stute, Chamber President, about attending the next Port
Authority meeting. Also requested were the Chamber goals so the future meeting can focus on areas of
mutual interest. Depending upon the Business Council availability, staff will schedule a joint meeting,
hopefully within the next few months. If there are specific topics the Port Authority would like to discuss
with the Business Council, please raise those items at this meeting.
RECOMMENDATION
Provide staff topics for discussion with the Rosemount Business Council.
