BACKGROUND:
At the November 19, 2013 regular City Council meeting, Council authorized the preparation of plans and
specifications for the Bacardi Avenue Street& Utility Improvements, City Project 452. A map illustrating
the project area is attached.
Design is currently 30% complete and staff would like to update the Council on the progress of design.
Based on a number of site constraints, alternative design methods are proposed for the sewer design, trail
design, and roadway alignment to enhance the corridor and reduce impacts to surrounding properties and
wetlands.
Staff will also present the proposed assessments included in the feasibility report which is scheduled to be
received by Council on January 21, 2014. Information will also be presented on the easement acquisition
process necessary to facilitate a mid June construction start.
SUMMARY:
No Council action is necessary.
