Families enjoyed an evening of free ice skating, playing in bounce houses and a large inflatable obstacle course, carnival games, live music from the Alpha Bits, snacks and prizes. This event is especially popular with families who have younger children. The Winter Family Fun Fest is also often the first event new families attend after moving to Rosemount. Parks and Recreation staff spend a lot of time at the event explaining to new families how sports teams, events and activities are coordinated within our city (for example, the difference between Parks and Recreation, RAAA and RAHA). This event is always very well received, and approximately 275 kids, along with their parents, attended this year. A special "thank you" goes out to Machelle Otto and also to Girl Scout Troop #54069 lead by Jennifer Duchscherer and Jackie Johnson from Rosemount Elementary School for coordinating the volunteers. This event would not be possible without the student volunteers who help make the Winter Family Fun Fest a success!
