RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to authorize the purchase of equipment.
ISSUE
Three Police Department patrol vehicles are scheduled for replacement in 2013. Each vehicle exceeds
100,000 miles and is beyond its service period.
Three replacement vehicles were proposed in the 2014 10 -year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) Working
Program approved by City Council at the November 19, 2013 Regular City Council meeting. The Police
Department intends to purchase the three new vehicles from Nelson Auto Center, Fergus Falls,
Minnesota. Nelson Auto Center is the authorized dealer for police squads through the Minnesota
Cooperative Purchasing Venture (CPV) program. Purchasing the police vehicles through the CPV meets
bidding requirements for the City of Rosemount purchasing guidelines.
A description of the three replacement vehicles is provided below:

1 — 2014 Ford Police Interceptor 4 -door Police Utility (sterling grey)
