RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Adopt a Resolution Receiving Plans and
Specifications and Authorize Advertisement for Bids for the TH 3 Turn Lane Improvements,
City Project 456
BACKGROUND
On November 19, 2013, the Rosemount City Council authorized the preparation of plans and
specifications for the TH 3 Turn Lane Improvements (formerly CDA Senior Housing Project Street&
Utility Improvements), City Project 456. At this time, the plans and specifications are complete and copies
are on file in the Engineering Department.
This project involves the construction of a right turn lane located on Trunk Highway 3, south of Lower
147th Street. Improvements associated with the construction of a right turn lane include removal of the
existing curb and sidewalk, relocation of storm sewer and street lights, and construction of the right turn
lane.
The total estimated project cost is $390,000 which includes 25% indirect costs. This project will be funded
with a combination of TIF funds for the turn lane improvements ($250,000) and a grant for the sanitary
sewer improvements ($140,000).
SUMMARY
Staff recommends Council receive the plans and specifications and ratify the advertising for bids for the
CDA Senior Housing Street& Utility Improvements, City Project 456.

RESOLUTION 2014 -
A RESOLUTION RECEIVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND AUTHORIZE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR
TH 3 TURN LANE IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT 456
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount has ordered the preparation of plans and
specifications for the TH 3 Turn Lane Improvements, City Project 456, and such plans and
specifications have been presented to this Council for approval:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount,
Minnesota:
1. Such plans and specifications are hereby approved and ordered placed on file in the office of the
City Clerk.
2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official City newspaper and the
Finance and Commerce an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvements
under such approved plans and specifications for City Project 456.
3. The advertisement shall be published in each of said publications at least once not less than one
(1) weeks before the date set for opening bids, specified the work to be done, stating the bids
will be publicly opened on April 25, 2014 at 10:00 o'clock a.m. at the Rosemount City Hall in
said City, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and
accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City
Clerk for five (5%) percent of the amount of such bid.
4. Such advertisement for bids is hereby authorized by the Council.
