Minutes of the April 15, 2014 Special Work Session Proceedings ROSEMOUNT CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL WORK SESSION PROCEEDINGS APRIL 15, 2014 CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special work session of the Rosemount City Council was th held on Tuesday, April 15 beginning at 8:10 p.m. in the Conference Room at City Hall, 2875 145 Street West, Rosemount. Mayor Droste called the meeting to order with Council Members DeBettignies, Shoe-Corrigan, Weisensel and Demuth attending. Staff present included City Administrator Johnson, City Clerk Domeier, Director of Parks and Recreation Schultz, Director of Public Works/City Engineer Brotzler and Community Development Director Lindquist. DISCUSSION 2.B. Splash Pad Project – Sun Shelter Roof Color Discussion was held about having consistency between the splash pad sun shelter roof color, Central Park shingle color and the color of the City Hall roof. Quinn Hutson from CNH Architects provided options for roof replacement and stucco colors. The City Council picked moving forward with the medium bronze roof color for City Hall. The painting cost of approximately $10,000 will be budgeted in 2015. After the new roof has been installed, color samples will be painted on the stucco to be viewed in sunlight. Discussion was held about the insulation options for the City Hall roof. Final plans and specifications will be brought to the City Council this summer. The City Council supported keeping a green roof color on the sun shelter. Central Park Shelter and the band shell will be matched in similar colors of asphalt shingles. 2.A. Discussion of DARTS Transportation Proposal Discussion was held about the presentation provided during the regular meeting including grants and funding opportunities. Questions were raised about MVTA offering the services or partnering with DARTS. Discussion was held about the services provided in Rosemount and other cities. Concerns were raised about local government having to fund the program. After considerable debate, the majority of the City Council decided not to participate in the new program at this time. There was consensus to wait a year to look at the program again. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the City Council and upon a motion by Droste, second by DeBettignies, the meeting was unanimously adjourned at 9:21 p.m. Respectfully Submitted, Amy Domeier, City Clerk
