RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to declare the items listed in the executive summary
as surplus property and for staff to appropriately dispose of the items.
ISSUE
The Finance Department is asking that the City Council declare the computers listed below as surplus
property. This declaration will authorize staff to appropriately dispose of these items.
BACKGROUND
The computers listed below are no longer usable within the City's operations due to budgeted technology
updates. Rather than paying to recycle these computers, staff would like to donate these to the following
organization:
Minnesota Computers for Schools
MCF-Stillwater
970 Pickett St. North
Bayport, MN 55003-1490
It is a partnership that trains inmates at the Stillwater Correctional Facility to refurbish and upgrade
computer hardware donated by businesses and places the systems in Minnesota K-12 public, private and
charter schools and educationally based non-profit organizations.
Computers with the following fixed asset tag #'s would be included in the donation:
002092-002099 & 002101-002137 (44 total)
