RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to declare the item listed in the executive summary as
surplus property and for staff to try to sell the equipment or appropriately dispose of the
item.
ISSUE
The Parks and Recreation Department is asking that the City Council declare the Blade Master Skate
Sharpener (tag#001255) as surplus property. The sharpener was purchased in 1995. The life expectancy
of this type of equipment is 12 - 15 years. Staff feels that this piece of equipment is at the end of its useful
life cycle. By declaring the sharpener as surplus property, staff will be authorized to appropriately dispose
of or recycle the item.
The item listed below is no longer used within the City's operations.

Once the equipment has been declared surplus property, staff will try to sell the equipment for parts. The
2014 Capital Improvement Budget includes funding to purchase a new skate sharpener.
