RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve the expenditure of donation for the
purchase of Police Bicycle Patrol Equipment.
BACKGROUND
Target Corporation awarded the Police Department a$1,000 grant in 2013. This grant was for the
purpose of updating or enhancing the Police Departments Bike Patrol capabilities. This grant would allow
for the purchase of bicycle equipment.
ISSUE
The Rosemount Police Department has police mountain bicycles that are specifically designed to handle
the rigors of off road operation. These bicycles require outfitting with certain equipment to enhance their
capabilities. This equipment would include: emergency lights, driving lights, first aid equipment and other
items.
SUMMARY
Staff recommends that Council approve the expenditure of$1,000 from donation account for the
purchase of Police Bicycle Patrol Equipment.
