Director's Report4ROSEMOUNTEXECUTIVE SUMMARY PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION Parks and Recreation Commission Regular Meeting: July 28, 2014 Park Improvement Fund Balance as of June 30, 2014: $391,434.61 Inflows to the Park Improvement Fund last month were as follows: Dedication fees — $3,400 Grants/Other - $0 Interest - $11.56 Donations - $0 Expenditures - $32,858.80 (DNR Tree Grant, Erickson Park Tennis Courts) Tree Plantings - All of the trees purchased with funding from the DNR grant have been planted and the final report has been submitted. In all, 137 trees were purchased and planted. In addition to planting the trees, the grant requirements included the update of the city's Shade Tree Pest and Disease Ordinance, and development of an Emerald Ash Borer Management Plan and a Shade Tree Maintenance Plan. All of the required documentation was included in the final submittal. The last step in the process is to have a final inspection of the new trees by DNR staff. Once this is completed we will receive the $20,725 grant funds. Splash Pad Opens - The splash opened at 12 noon on Monday, July 21. A ribbon cutting was held at 6:00 pm and was very well attended.
