RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Adopt a Resolution Receiving Bids and Awarding
the Contract for Prestwick Place 10th Addition Street and Utility Improvements, City Project
457.
BACKGROUND:
On Tuesday,August 12, 2014, four bids were received for the Prestwick Place 10th Addition Street and
Utility Improvements Project and read aloud publicly. The low bidder is S. R. Weidema, Inc.who
submitted a base bid in the amount of$698,831.65. The low base bid amount of$698,831.65 is 0.4%
more than the estimated construction cost of$696,088.50. All costs associated with this project will be
funded by the developer, U.S. Home Corporation, Inc. through a combination of cash payment for
overhead and special assessments for the construction costs and trunk fees.
Prestwick Place 10th Addition Street and Utility Improvements, City Project 457,is a continuation of the
overall Prestwick development. It includes 26 single-family lots located south of Connemara Trail, just
east of the Bloomfield development.
It is anticipated that the utility and roadway improvements for the Prestwick Place Wh Addition will be
complete by fall 2014.
SUMMARY:
Staff recommends that Council adopt the attached resolution receiving the bids and awarding the contract
for Prestwick Place 10th Addition Street and Utility Improvements, City Project 457.

RESOLUTION 2014 -
A RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT
FOR THE PRESTWICK PLACE 10TH
STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT 457
BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of the City of Rosemount, Minnesota, as follows:
1. All bids on construction of the Prestwick Place 10th Addition Street and Utility Improvements
are hereby received and tabulated.
2. Based on the Base Bid, the bid of S. R. Weidema, Inc. in the amount of$698,831.65 for the
construction of said improvements is in accordance with the plans and specifications and
advertisement for bids, and is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is accepted
contingent upon securing all necessary right-of-way.
3. Upon securing all necessary right-of-way, the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and
directed to enter into a contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements
for and on behalf of the City of Rosemount.
4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits
made with their bids, except that the deposit of the successful bidder and the next two lowest
bidders shall be retained until a contract has been executed.
