RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve Change Order 1 for the Erickson Park
Tennis Court Improvement project.
ISSUE
In April of 2024,the City Council received bids (see below) for the Erickson Parks Teruiis Court project
and awarded a contract to Northwest Asphalt for the base bid price,bid alternate #2 (heavy posts and
wind screens) and bid alternate#3 (blackvinyl fencing).
At the time of awarding the contract for the project,the City did not have funding available for bid
alternate # 1 (electric and court lighting). Since awarding the project,funding has become available in the
Building QP Fund for the electrical and court lighting improvements.Northwest Asphalt was the low
bidder on the overall project and also bid alternate#1. Staff checked to see if they would still honor their
original pricing for bid alternate # 1 and they said that they would. Staff is recommending we process a
change order to add bid alternate# 1 to the project.

SUMMARY
Staff is recommending the City Council approve Change Order 1 to add electric and court lighting in the
amount of$151,710 to the original contract with Northwest Asphalt.
