ISSUE
Staff were Yecendy asked to check with other local facilities regarcling what type of security is required if
alcohol is served during an event. Several facilities xesponded to our request and the information we
received has been complied into the spreadsheet that is included in the packet. r'�s you can see by the
information provided to staff, a majority of the facilities require some sort of security at their events when
alcohol is served. Eagan and Oakdale are the two that differ from most of the others. It is the City of
Rosemount's policy to have a Rosemount police officer on site to provide secuxity when alcohol is served.
The cost of having the officer at the event is paid for by the person renting the facility. The cuYrent fee is
$217.00 for three and a half hours of security.
Staff would like for the Ciry Council to discuss this item and provide staff with direction regarding the
City's policy of having security at events that serve alcohol.
