Parks and Recreation Commission Special Meeting: September 29, 2014
Park Improvement Fund Balance as of August 31, 2014: $282,369.82
Inflows to the Park Improvement Fund last month were as follows:
Dedication fees — $39,100
Grants/Other - $0
Interest - $1,506.29
Donations - $0
Expenditures - $57,303.17 (Erickson Park Tennis Courts)
Flint Hills Athletic Complex - Two of the three soccer fields at the new Outdoor Recreation Complex
at Flint Hills opened for use on August 26. The fields were seeded last fall and the turf matured during the
summer and looks great. So far, all the reports about the site and the quality of the turf have been very
favorable.
Little Free Library — A Little Free Library was recently installed in Central Park near the playground.
Wanting to honor the memory of a library friend who passed way, Mindy Worden has undertaken this
project which will make a positive impact in the community.
Off Leash Dog Parks — Staff will be providing the Commission with an update on the topic of a future
dog park in Rosemount.
