The Council is asked to authorize the Rosemount Police Department to participate in the ne�twelve month grant period with the Dakota County Traffic Safety Group. This period will be from October 1, 2014 - September 30, 2015. This cooperative law enforcement traffic safety effort was first authorized by Council in May of 2005 and the grant program has been operating throughout Dakota County since October of 2005. The grant funds overtime traffic enforcement projects throughout the year. Additional projects not funded bythe grant are also coordinated through the program and agencies assign personnel to those projects as staffing and resources allow. This willingness to fund the enforcement projects above and beyond the grant funding has been praised by the grant agency as demonstrating the communities' dedication to traffic safety.
