The condition of Danbury Way has deteriorated significantl5� over the past several years and maintenance of the roadway has become a gro��ing challenge. This project�vas previously scheduled to be completed in 2010 but was deferred to advance other projects within the city. r, map depicting the project area is attached. At the Work Session on October 14, 2014 it was decided that the impro`rement of Danbury Way would be scheduled for 2016. � neighUorhood meeting was held September 26, 2013 to review the proposed unprovements and assessments�vith the affected property owners. A resident survey was mailed September 18, 2014 requesting input from residents, results �vere shared at the October 14, 2014 Work Session. The estimated engineering fee for the preparation of a feasibility report is �14,000. "I'he following information�vill be included in the report: • Ezisting conditions with detailed information on the e�sting materials • Proposed improvements �vith options o Curb and gutteY versus ditches o Concrete pavement versus bituminous pa�-ement o Storm se�ver/��ater quality unprovements • Detailed cost estimates and proposed funding sources • Lstitnated assessments • Preparation of feasibility report G:AI�,NGVRO�\�}Si\Council Items'\2U74ll(13 CC.Authocizc I�cusibilih�Rcpor[.doc� Additionally, a significant public involvement process is proposed to engage the neighborhood and incorporate feedback into the project. The cost of this process will be in addition to the preparation of the feasibility report and it includes the follo�ving activities: • Multiple public infoxmational meetings • Public coordination including the preparation of informational letters, invitations,web page updates,and response to resident questions and inquiries • Presentation of fmal report to City� Council at the Public Hearing SUMMARY: Staff requests Council approval of the attached resolution to authorize the preparation of a feasibility report for Danbury Way Improvements, City Project 453. 2 CITY OF ROSEMOUNT DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 2014- A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A FEASIBILITY REPORT FOR DANBURY WAY IMPROVEMENTS CITY PROJECT 453 WHEREAS, the Cit�� Council deemed it necessary to investigate the feasibility of Danbury Way Improvements, City Project 453 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Ciry Council of the City of Rosemount hereby directed the Staff to have the necessary feasibility report prepaYed for the Danbury Way Improvements, City Project 453.
