RECOMMENDED ACTION: Discuss meeting schedule for 2015
BACKGROUND
At the first Council meeting of each year,we set the normal schedule of council meetings for the rest of
the year, including both regular meetings and work sessions. During 2014,our regular meetings have been
scheduled on the first and third Tuesday of each month with the work session scheduled on the second
Tuesday.
Councilmember elect Shaun Nelson has inquired about moving the work session meetings to Monday on
the middle week between council meetings instead of Tuesday. He travels for his job from time to time
(as do others of you) and this change would make it easier for him to schedule work travel in the second
week of the month.
Staff sees no operational impact since we would propose to maintain the same schedule of sending out
packets electronically on the preceding Friday in either case. The only meeting conflict is with the Beyond
the Yellow Ribbon Committee which normally meetings in the Council Chambers on the second Monday.
I believe they could move to either the first or third Monday if necessary.
RECOMMENDATION
Council should direct staff on how to prepare the resolution adopting the 2015 meeting schedule.
