ISSUE
On an annual basis the Parks and Recreation Commission reviews the Parks and Recreation related
portion of the City's Fees and Fee Policy. Staff typically makes recommendations as to whether the fees
and fee policy should be changed and also provides data to support the recommended changes. Fees are
often set based on trying to offset some of the operating costs and also staying current with other similar
facilities in the market.
In November of 2014, the Commission made a recommendation to have staff ask the Rosemount Area
Hockey Association (RAHA) about when they would prefer to see ice rental rate increases. RAHA
responded by stating that they prefer seeing lower hourly increases more often instead of less frequent
larger increases.
Staff asks that the Commission review the ice rate chart that is attached and make a recommendation
regarding our 2015-2016 ice rates.
