Park Improvement Fund Balance as of January 31, 2015: $258,742.67 Inflows to the Park Improvement Fund last month wexe as follows: Dedication fees—$6,253.58 Gxants/Other- $0 Interest- $0 Donations - $0 Expenditures - $0 Boot Hockey-Jaycee Park served as the host faciliry for the SBI Adult Boot Hockey Tournament on February 7, 2015. This is the third year that Rosemount has hosted this event for SBI. It was formerly held at Central Park. Resilient Communities Project—Staff will have a Nature Based Play video to show at the meeting. Star Wars Event-T`he Second Annual Star Wars Extravaganza was held at the Community Center on Satuxday,January 17, 2015. Once again, this event was a huge success. The extravaganza was previously held at the Steeple CenteY,but due to the construction at that site the event was moved to the Rosemount Community Center this year. AppYoximately 1,100 people parricipated in the acrivities which took place in the Auditoxium, Gymnasium and Meeting Rooms at the Community Center. These activities included meeting Star War characters,building a ciroid, drawings by caricature artists, saber battles and building with Lego blocks. This event was a joint effort of the Rosemount Area Axts Council, Friends of the Libxary, and the City of Rosemount. No admission fee was charged but those who attended were encouraged to bring donations for the food shel£ The generosity of those attending resulted in enough donations to fill 11 very well packed boxes for the local food shelf, along with some monetary donations. Daddy/Daughter Dance at the Rosemount Community Center-The Rosemount Parks and Recreation Department, along with the S.O.R.R. (South of the Rivex Recreators) group which consists of the Parks and Recreation Departments of Eagan, Farmington,Lakeville,Apple Valley and Savage,hosted the annual daddy/daughter dance this past weekend. Two dances were held, and 252 litde girls along with their ;. dads, uncles or grandfathexs (464 parricipants total) traveled across the globe to Paris and experienced a magical evening! Participants enjoyed dancing, music, snacks, a professional photo, fun activities, crafts and much moxe. Rosemount Parks and # Recreation hosted the first event on Friday night, and Eagan Paxks and Recrearion hosted the second dance on Sunday afternoon. The curtain will be a draw-string model and will be used duYing theatrical performances and also as a back drop for groups using the front of the stage area.
