Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a Regular Meeting of the
Utility Commission of the City of Rosemount wad duly held on
October 9, 1979, at the City Hall.
Due to the Holiday on October 8, 1979, the meeting was called to
order at 6 :45 p.m. by President Jensen with Commissioner Hasbrouck
absent.
Motion by Jensen to approve the minutes of the September 10, 1979,
Regular Meeting as printed. Second by Westin. Ayes were two.
Motion by Jensen to pay the following bills: Second by Westin.

Motion by Jensen to accept the bid from Restwell Motel in the amount
of $1,900.00 for the sale of the 1973 Internation 4x4 pickup with
snow plow. Second by Westin. Ayes were two.
Don Brown presented pencil quotes on new pickups available at this
time listing equipment and specifications. He advised the Commission
that he was prepared to recommend the Ford pickup with automatic
transmission but had been advised that it had been sold. Quotes
were offered by Wilroy Ford on two units one with no options at
$4,650.00, the other being the one no longer available at $5,200.00
with the third quote from Rosemount Dodge on a Dodge pickup
comparably equipped as the Ford that is no longer availabit at
$5,257.22.
Don Brown recommended purchase of the unit from Rosemount Dodge at
a cost of $5,257.22.
Motion by Jensen to acknowledge receipt of the quotes on pickups and
to authorize the Utility Department to purchase the Dodge pickup at
• the quoted price of $5,257.22. Second by Westin. Ayes were two.
ROSEMOUNT UTILITIES COMMISSION

Street light standards and fixtures to be used in Rahn's 8th
Addition were discussed.
Motion by Jensen that the street lights at the intersections of
the cul de sacs with 149th Street in Rahn's 8th Addition shall be
steel decorative poles with mast arms to allow good light direction
on the intersections and the interior lights may be the same
design as the ornamentals used in the past. Second by Westin.
Ayes were two.
Don Brown requested authorization for Richman Cook and Don Brown to
attend a one day Water System Maintenance School at Northfield to
be held on October 26, 1979.
Motion by Westin to authorize Don Brown and Richman Cook to attend
the Water System Maintenance School to be October 26th at
Northfield City Hall and the Utility Department to pay the registra-
tion fees. Second by Jensen. Ayes were two.
Commissioner Hasbrouck arrived at 7p.m.
• Don Brown updated the Utility Commission on the smelly water
problem indicating that part of the problem could be in the house
plumbing in certain cases.
A Fire Rating Study by Fire Underwriters was discussed. It was the
opinion of all present that a study should be requested at this time
as nothing further is planned in the way of water system improvements.
at this time that would inhance the rating.
Motion by Westin to recommend that the City Council take the action
necessary to cause a Fire Rating Study. Second by Jensen. Ayes were
three.
Curbing required at the Utility Garage sight was discussed.. Don
Brown was told to proceed as discussed.
Motion by Jensen to adjourn. Second by Westin *. Kyes were three.
