Secretary reminded the Commission of the change in the October meeting
date due to a holiday. President Jensen stated that we should alert
the City Council to try and not schedule a Special Council Meeting that
night so as not to conflict with the Utility Commission meeting.
D6n Brown reported on the progress in his effort to eliminate the smelly
water condition in various areas on the Rosemount system. The State
Health Department has tested the water source for the presence of Hydrogen
Sulfide with the results being negative. He reported that many of the
successes so far have been due to the removal of the magnesium rods from
water heaters and cleaning of water softeners. He has also installed a
bypass in one home to identify that the interior house plumbing is the
possible source of the smell in that residence. He stated that the
progress is very slow due to the reluctance of the users involved to take
the action he has recommended as a possible solution to their problem.
Until they do this he cannot continue his search for the source should
the condition continue to exist.

Bill Polta, Ken Rose Center Owner has informed Don Brown that he
doesnot wish to pay the meter deposits required of him as he feels
they are an unreasonable charge for a Commercial establishment. The
Utility Commission directed Don Brown to inform Bill Polta that the
deposit is due and payable at this time. Should any decision be made
to the contrary he would be informed of that decision.
