The meeting was called to order by President Walsh with member Westin absent. by Hasbrouck to approve the minutes of the January 12, r Meeting as printed. Second by Walsh. Commission instructed Don brown to invite Consolidated Electric to the March 9th meeting to present their display for the Commission members in inspect. Richman Cook was in attendance to report on the School he attended in January. He thanked the Utility Commission for allowing attendance at this school by two of the maintenance staff. Don Brown asked the Utility Commission to consider allowing him to attend a one day seminar presented by the Ductile Iron Pipe Research Association to be held at the Holiday Inn in Bloomington on March 17, 1981. Motion by Hasbrouck to authorize Don Brown's attendance at the Ductile Iron Pipe Research Associations one day seminar as requested. Second by Walsh. Motion by Walsh to authorize Don Brown to seek quotes for inspection, cleaning and possible repair to the Water Tower. Motion by Walsh to authorize Don Brown to obtain price information on inline water filters to determine if it would be financially feasible to purchase a number of these units to allow an area survey for the presence of iron bacteria. Second by Hasbrouck. Ayes were two. Chlorination was discussed as a possible final solution to the problem. It is evident that no one here at the City has any idea of the cost of installing chlorination equipment required for the Rosemount System. Motion by Walsh directing Staff to contact SEH and request a cost estimate for a Chlorination Feasibility Report for the Rosemount System. Second by Hasbrouck. Ayes were two.
