Don Brown presented cost information on a paging alarm system for the
Supervisory Control Panel that controls the Wells. After review and
discussion of the information presented by Davis Electronis and
Consolidated Electric it was determined that a system adequate to
handle the job would cost approximate 700.00 from Davis Electronics
and the cost from Consolidated Electric would be 836.50.
Motion by Hasbrouck to purchase a paging system with two pagers from
Davis Electronics at a cost of $699.12 installed. Second by Walsh.
Ayes were three.
President Walsh asked the Commission to consider the purchase of a
remote radio unit for Well House V. This would provide a unit to
alert all mobile and remote radio units when the paging system triggered
an alarm. Approximate cost of a single remote unit is $200.00. Don
• Brown also supports this remote unit system.

President Walsh updated the Commission Members regarding the U of M
Proposed Plat. He outlined the demands and requirements that have
been generated during the plat review process.
Don Brown reported on the generator he has obtained on an approval
basis from the Surplus Depot. It has been transported to a Commercial
shop for repair to the governor. If that problem can be fixed the
unit will be fully functional and will be accepted and installed.
Don Brown informed the Commission that he is awaiting results of water
tests before proceeding with acquisition and installation of in line
water filters as part of the research into the smelly water problem.

Don Brown asked the Commission for a determination on replacement of
old water meters. Should they be replaced with the same kind of unit,
should they be replaced with units that can accept outside readers or
should they be replaced with complete outside readers. Also, an increase
in the quarterly maintenance charge is in order due to the increase in
meter cost for outside readers.
Motion by Westin to refer the Terry Duffy claim to the City Council
with the understanding that the Utility Commission denies responsibility
for the claim but upholds the claim presented due to evidence offered
by Don Brown. Second by Walsh. Ayes were three.
Don Brown informed the Commission that he attempted to have a separat¢
service placed in the Leo McDonough house as part of the smelly water
research but the McDonough's elected not to have the installation
completed.

Hydrogen Sulfide test results of the Wells has not been recieved
as yet. Don Brown received some results by phone but indicated he
would not present them for discussion in this form. He feels the
results were to long in coming and should be questioned as to their
validity. Commission directed Don Brown to cause the same tests to
be performed by a different testing firm.
